Cheriyal paintings are very old tradition paintings of Telangana state prepared by Nakash Artists. These paintings have been identified by the rules of Kakatiya era and the Nizams, 400 years age for their delicate artistry. This art form traditionally used by the story teller’s in the villages to illustrate the history and culture of people in the rural areas. The length of the each painting is 3 feet width and nearly 40 feet in length which is used by the storytellers to narrate story.
The Cheriyal paintings have an unmatched historical significance. The paintings shows Ramayana, Mahabharata and various folk stories from the Hindu mythology. The paintings are prepared on the khadi cloth, by using the natural colors, special brushes and Tirumani tree gum fully ecofriendly.
